Mouth Cancer Action Month
Did you know?
Mouth cancer can affect anybody but many cases of mouth cancer are directly linked with individual's lifestyle choices and certain risk factors increase the chances of developing mouth cancer.
We all know smoking is bad for your health in so many ways but smoking is the leading cause of mouth cancer.
Excessive alcohol is also linked to cases of mouth cancer and should only be consumed responsibly over the legal age (18).
So what can we do?
To keep us healthy we can make good lifestyle choices, eat a well-balanced diet eating plenty of fruit and veg.
We can check our mouth, lips, tongue and throat regularly looking for any red or white patches, ulcers or any unusual lumps or swellings.
We can attend regular check-ups with your dentist.

Making changes with you in mind
During the summer Phoenix Orthodontic Practice underwent redecoration of the entire practice including its patient waiting areas and surgeries making the practice feel fresh and new.
New signage was fitted externally and internally making it easier to find your way around the practice.
Educational posters about keeping teeth healthy and an information board for patients were fitted to the waiting area helping you keep well informed.
We have an information corner including patient information leaflets and magazines to look at while you wait and important information can now be found displayed on your patient noticeboard.
Introducing the NHS Family & Friends Test
Patients are invited to give us their feedback by answering a simple question. Would you recommend us to friends & family?
The response cards can be found in the patient waiting area along with the box to post them in.
We are always looking at ways we can improve our service
